Roon software resets to home menu on MacBook after update (ref#RAJMI2)

Describe the issue

Since the last update of Roon I made today, the software on my MacBook (latest OS Update installed) resets every few seconds to the home menu. I can't even check for further updates through settings->about. It resets right to the home menu. The server runs on a Mac Mini (Version 2.48 build 1517). The mobile Version on my iPhone runs as expected.

Describe your network setup

All devices are connected via Unifi USW-Pro-Max-16-Poe (Server is hardwired). The Mobile Devices (iPhone and MacBook) are connected via Wifi to an U6-Pro. The network seem fine. No issues with any devices.

Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about your issues with Roon resetting for you. Lets refresh your instance of Roon on your Mac, and see if that may help:

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
