I opened Roon over the weekend and found that I could not access the software unless I ran it in Administrator mode. Thinking something was off on the installation, I logged out and tried to log back in, but cannot get past the login screen.
If I run as a normal process (not as an administrator), all I get is a blank screen where the Roon app would be and it never proceeds from there. I have to force quit the app to close it.
When I run it as an administrator, I get the option to connect to my core and then it opens a browser for me to select my login. After I select the login, I get a “Redirecting, please wait…” message, along with the option to click if it doesn’t continue. Nothing ever happens and clicking does nothing either.
@Michael_McMahon, please see the link below. There was an issue with Friday’s update and Roon has reverted to the previous version which can be downloaded and reinstalled from Roon’s downloads page.
Thank you. I did see that and so today I downloaded the installer again and ran it. I can’t remember the version exactly, but I think the application folder structure shows something like 1311?
The issues I reported above are with that older version.
OK (but not really). This is frustrating, maybe another user has a solution. Do you have a backup of your Roon database created from within Roon? If so, if this continues it may be worth deleting entirely and reinstalling a clean version (but recommend holding off until others comment).
Thanks for trying to help. What’s really weird is that it doesn’t open completely without running as admin. I think I will delete it (try to) fully. My DB exists on my Linux Roon Core, so hopefully it’ll be all right.
