Just tried connecting SA45 via wifi to the router and the Roon server is on the same network as the SA45 now the audio track is playing on the unit but no audio….strange?!?
Hi Andy…..Firmware was updated when originally set up by myself. The main issue is no signal of the audio file is displayed in the SA45’s screen….although track name and artist name is displayed.
When there is metadata of signal path displayed in the SA45 screen it is showing MP3 128kbps
I will try using chromecast instead of Roon Ready….. to see if that resolves the issue.
Now there is another issue…before I reset the SA45….chromecast via the SA45 was showing in Roon audio settings….after the reset….it has now disappeared…..Give me strength!
Chromecast (when it’s working… ) isn’t really a resolution - you probably want RAAT once you are happy it’s working correctly - but it might help diagnose what’s going on.
RAAT doesn’t encapsulate mp3 even if the source is mp3 - it’s unpacked on the Roon server and sent as pcm - so I can’t see any way the SA45 could interpret a RAAT stream as mp3 unless it’s very confused. The other possibility is that what you are seeing on the SA45 isn’t telling you what you think it is, but…
Does the same file streamed using Tidal Connect display correctly?
No using the SA45 via TIDAL Connect everything is as it should be…..signal metadata of audio files are displayed on SA45’s screen……it is just on ROON the audio metadata isn’t. And if it is at all…it shows MP3 128-320kbps Have emailed Arcam support …..Lets see what they have to say…..
Even though the max bits per sample and max sample rate aren’t being displayed on the SA45 whilst using Roon I can hear the difference between a 16 bit 44.1khz audio file and a 24 bit 192khz audio file. It would just be handy to see the actual bit rate and sample rate on screen.
