I am experiencing the same issue. It began after the last update. I am running Roon on a mac mini with the latest OS. My endpoints are all connected to the core via wifi.
After each occurrence, the play button is grayed out. It sometimes (not always) fixes itself. The problem is extraordinarily annoying. I have done the usual rebooting of everything associated, which does not help.
