It is still present on my side. I have disabled all folders. Cleaned up library to remove references to deleted files, files associated with disabled storage locations and files not associated. Still stuck doing a file rescan on number 1 file. There are less files though. There should not be any!
I usually switch between two servers in two different sites: a Rock server I use during weekends and the Windows Roonserver during weekdays. I use the same laptop in both sites. That same laptop runs roonserver when Rock server is not present. I un-authorize the license I am not using in each site. There is no problems with the Rock instalation
You mention there shouldn’t be any local files to be scanned when using Windows as both a server and remote - could you please share a screenshot of your Roon Settings > Storage in this case?
Based on your admin information, it looks like the Windows machine is hosting ~9k or so files.
If you could please bring your server back online, we’ll enable diagnostics for the PC specifically and take a closer look. Thank you!
After restarting the computer a couple of times, roonserver finally understood that there were no local files left and stopped rescanning constantly. Then I re-enabled my music folder. It scanned it normally. I then restored a 1 month old backup and my favorites, lists, etc came back. Apparently everything is normal now and roon is not re-scanning constantly. I did make a backup right away to have a new base line to go to, although just restoring a backup did not solve the problem before. Problem solved.
Great to hear that everything is back to normal. After a couple of restarts, Roon Server stopped rescanning constantly, your music folder scanned normally again, and restoring the month-old backup brought back your favorites, lists, and other library data.
It was also smart to make a fresh backup right away so you have a new baseline to return to. We’ll go ahead and mark this thread for closure. Enjoy your Roon experience!
