Hello @Santiago_Ferro,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your question with us.

We have reviewed the latest diagnostics report from your machine, and it appears that Roon Server is currently running normally on our end.

Could you please confirm if the issue is still persisting for you?

If you are still encountering problems despite the reinstall, it is possible that the old database files were not fully cleared. A standard “drag to trash” of the app icon does not remove the database.

To perform a clean reinstall, you must verify the following:

  1. Did you delete the specific folder located at ~/Library/RoonServer before reinstalling?
  2. Warning: Deleting this folder will erase your database completely (edits, playlists, play history). You must have a valid Backup saved elsewhere before doing this, or you will lose your data.
If the problem is still active, could you please share a screenshot of exactly what you are seeing?

Thanks.

Thanks a lot Alex. The issue is fixed. I wish I knew exactly how it was solved, but I have no idea.

Just one more question. Can you please guide me to set up a Backup and where is the best location to have it?

Thanks agaimn,

Santiago

@Santiago_Ferro,

Thanks for confirming that the issue is resolved!

Regarding Backups:

Since you are running Roon on a Mac, you have more flexibility regarding file locations compared to a closed system like Nucleus.

For simplicity and easy access, I recommend creating a dedicated backup folder in your Home Directory (accessible via Cmd + Shift + H in Finder).

To set up your backups:

  1. Open Roon Settings (Cmd + ,).
  2. Navigate to the Backups tab.
  3. From there, you can configure Scheduled Backups (recommended) or perform a manual Snapshot.
The process is quite straightforward, but if you have any specific questions about the settings or schedules, please feel free to ask.

Thanks.
