Hi @ludlowknowles,
Thank you, that screenshot is actually good news. Let’s take your issues one at a time in plain terms.
1. Why you keep seeing “DX3” and “KAL50”
You’re right that you only have one physical server. When Antipodes replaced the motherboard, Roon registered the new board as a new machine, while the old registration still shows in the picker, so “DX3” (the new board) and “KAL50” (the old one) are really the same box before and after the repair. That’s why Roon keeps asking which to use.
To settle it: on that selection screen, choose DX3 and let it fully start. Going forward, manage your active server under Settings → General and avoid the “Configure Roon OS devices” link, which is what re-surfaces the old entry. The KAL50 entry is just a stale listing, once DX3 is consistently your active server, you can ignore it, and it won’t affect playback or ARC.
2. Roon ARC, this is already working
Good news here: your Settings → ARC screen shows “Ready — securely accessible by Roon ARC,” so your server is set up correctly and reachable from the internet. The earlier “No Roon Servers found” message was a side effect of issue #1, ARC can’t connect while there’s no active server, and yours was caught between the DX3 and KAL50 registrations.
Now that DX3 is active, please fully close and reopen the Roon ARC app on your phone, and make sure you’re signed into ARC with the same Roon account. It should find DX3 and connect. If it still doesn’t, sign out of ARC and back in, and let us know.
3. Your playlists
This is the hard part. Before we conclude they’re gone, two things are worth checking:
- Did Antipodes by chance keep your original storage drive when they swapped the motherboard? If the old Roon database is still on it, we may be able to restore from it.
- In Settings → Backups, is any backup location listed (an internal folder, USB drive, or network share)? Sometimes a backup exists that people don’t remember setting up.
If either turns up something, send us a screenshot and we’ll walk through restoring it. If not, we’re sorry to say we won’t be able to recover them.
I feel your frustration deeply. We did notify users ahead of the release, but with an in-app notification, as well as a newsletter that was sent out on April 10th. There was also a community post about it, but we understand these things can still easily be missed, and you have our apologies.
We’re not able to see from your account admin, but do you have any streaming services synced to your Roon account? If so, those playlists will still be available.
