Following your very helpful intervention in updating my Roon Nucleus to 2.0, the system was fine until about a few days ago when it stopped recognising the Linn Akurate DSM which no longer appears in the audio zone. There are now two “Unnamed” Nucleus HDMI A & B devices which which I do not recognise and no sound comes through my Linn system if I select either of them. I performed the usual “switch off-switch on” routine of the Linn and the Nucleus to no avail.
Following various posts, I updated my QNAP firmware without any difference. I read about Linn subnets but there is no way I can see or alter the subnet as they are greyed out.
I am perplexed as the update to Roon 2.0 a fortnight ago was fine and this new issue cropped up spontaneously. I would be grateful if you can advise or intervene to help expedite a resolution.
Linn user here. Can you post a screenshot of your Settings>Setup screen like the one I shared below? Some network change could have accidentally put your Linn system to a different subnet than what Roon expects.
Are you sure the Linn device has an IP address of the form 192.168.1.xxx? Some routers can be configured to provide multiple subnets, for instance different ones for wired and WiFi, or multiple WiFi networks.
I noticed that on your “Subnet for Linn streaming” there’s a downarrow icon after the subnet information. What do you see if you click on that icon? Reason I’m asking is that if there are several entries on the pop-up, it could be that your Linn device is on another one of the networks.
To answer your questions:
There is only one network and the IP address is what is shown on the Roon Remote app. The “Down” arrow did not respond when I clicked on it.
As for the router, it was rebooted. And no, the Linn does not have a fixed IP address.
However, I’ve just this moment seen that the Roon Setup screen (audio tab) has changed inexplicably - there is now the Linn Akurate (named Lounge, in my case). Now, with the Linn Akurate recognised, I can play music through that audio zone.
I am relieved that something has changed and wonder if there was any external intervention. As I mentioned in my earlier post, the system was playing fine, then the Linn Akurate disappeared in the last 5 days and now it has reappeared, all inexplicably. (No Linn software updates during this time either).
Have you had any further issues since your report or has the system been stable? I enabled diagnostics mode for your Roon Core, but I am not seeing much in terms of errors. Please let us know if you are still having issues and the time + date + track playing if so, and we can perform another more focused review of the logging. Thanks!
It looks like you fixed it by rebooting the router. If this reappears again in the future, consider replacing the router by a non-mesh WiFi 6 router from TP-Link or Asus.
