Roon: Tag Sort Mechanism Not Retained in iOS, Android [Ticket In]

I prefer to sort my tags “By date modified.” In the Windows desktop app, for example, this setting is sticky – every time I go to my tags, they are sorted by date modified like I left them last time. In the Android app, this setting is not sticky and is defaulted to alphanumeric sort every time. I primarily browse my library through tags, I use a “2024 evaluating” tag to keep track of albums from this year that I’m checking out and then things that I like I move to a “2024 keepers” tag. So, when I open the tags view I prefer those to be right at the top where they usually will be when sorting by date modified. Since the sort setting is sticky on the desktop app and that seems like obviously expected behavior, I think the lack of stickiness on Android is a bug! Many thanks for any info and for a great application.

Hi @Jason_Walsh1,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this. That does sound like unexpected behavior. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I will make a ticket for this with our dev team to look into this. Is this on the remote app or when you are using ARC?

This is the Roon remote app on Android; as far as I know there isn’t any way of sorting tags in ARC. I don’t have any Apple devices currently to test whether tag sort order is sticky in the remote app there. Thanks!

Hi @Jason_Walsh1,

The team can reproduce this behavior and has put in a ticket for development to investigate. Please stand by and we’ll respond here with updates. Thanks!
