Roon takes a long time to start and then won't play Tidal or local files

Roon Core Machine

Intel NUCi5FNK3 8GB RAM

Networking Gear & Setup Details

Everything using the network involved with Roon is wired into a Netgear gigabit switch. No VPN.

Connected Audio Devices

External 2TB SSD holds my local files and that is connected directly to the NUC via USB.
Audio via HDMI into a Sony Av amp.

Number of Tracks in Library

About 50,000

Description of Issue

Roon took about a day to build the database once I reinstalled it. The trial database took 30 minutes to build initially, maybe, probably not even that.

Roon takes around 5 minutes to start. I have switched off my firewall but that made no difference.

Also cannot log into Tidal. If I try to play any local files then they fail after an attempt and then I get an error message about failure after playing all the tracks on the album has been attempted.

Do you have ROCK or widows or…?

Ah yes, that would be helpful, wouldn’t it. Windows 11.

I found a solution! Installing ROCK on my NUC fixed it. I have no idea what was going wrong but after I was asked which os the NUC was on then I thought it would be worth giving ROCK a try. Happy to report it is working very well indeed.
