Roon Taking Forever to Start

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Description Of Issue
Roon Core is taking forever to load and start. I get the blinky Roon logo for 5 minutes or more. It didn’t used to do this. I had Roon trial earlier in summer and never had this problem. I then went off, and recently came back and bought a subscription. Now it does this every time. Very annoying.

Hi @Joanne_Mason,

Do you have any data saved in the Roon database? Have you made any changes?
You can try to start with a fresh Roon database to see if this helps:

  • Make a Backup of your current Roon Database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
