Roon Tested - JDS Labs Element 4

I have just updated to the latest Roon SW - Roon 2.61.

JDS Labs Element 4 is “Roon Tested”:

But JDS Labs Element 4 don’t show up as “Roon Tested” under “Audio”

It is showing up:

“Roon Tested” is different to “Roon Ready”. Roon Tested devices do not show up as standalone devices. Rather they show up as an audio endpoint on the computer to which they are attached provided that that computer is running the Roon Server, the Roon Client (Windows and Mac) or Roon Bridge (Windows, Mac and linux).

From the image above, I can see that there is a JDS Labs Element 4 connected to the PC running the Roon Client and it is enabled for use with the ASIO driver.

As mentioned, Roon Ready is not the same as Roon Tested. Roon tested is applied to any DAC which has passed Roon’s basic DAC testing.

Roon Ready means that the DAC in question as a hardware baseline, has a network connection, usually ethernet port. Without this, the certification is meaningless. Roon Ready signifies that the manufacturer has embedded, and Roon has tested this implementation, of Roon’s network code.

This is different than a device using RoonBridge.

This has been there all the time - nothing new.

So what were you expecting?

What if anything has changed since the previous release?

If this has been

implemented, where are the benefits of “Roon Tested”?

Or it has not been implemented. I don’t see any difference comapred to the IST
