Describe the issue

Roon will not play 24 bit 96 or 192khz FLAC when this is the native file from Tidal. Roon will play it as 16bit 44.1kHz

Describe your network setup

Roon nucleus connected to home network and playing through bluesound node player connected via ethernet connected to same network

Check that you have set Settings > Services > Tidal > Quality to Max

Thanks. Roon needed to update to the newest version. Now I am able to change the settings in Tidal to Max. Roon is now playing at the correct bit rate but the albums still show as FLAC 16 44.1kHz until I play the track and then it is showing in the signal path that it is playing in the native resolution.

I’ll leave this to official support. I believe that this still stems from Tidal’s move from MQA to regular FLAC. At the time, Roon Labs said that they can’t re-scan all 100 million tracks at once, so for a while people would be seeing incorrect format info on the album. However, as people play stuff the signal path would find the correct info and so the database would be updated over time.

But, this migration happened by what’s now a long time ago, and I have read some complaints by users that this isn’t happening for them, even for albums they are sure were played previously. Therefore, let’s see what support has to say.

Hello @michaelwoodpt,

Welcome to our community! We’re glad to hear that the initial issue has been resolved.

When you have a moment, could you please share the names of the tracks or albums you’re referring to? Additionally, a screenshot of what you’re seeing in the Track Info and Signal Path would be very helpful for us to better understand the situation.

Looking forward to your update!
