I can access my Roon Titan through the IP address and have tried rebooting and reinstalling the operating system. But when I launch the app either on my laptop, iPad or iPhone the app won't load. It continues to show the loading icon even after many hours.
Describe your network setup
Titan is hard wired to my router, an Archer BE9000
Please post a screen shot of the Nucleus Titan information page?
Include IP Adress, and then make sure your Roon Remote is on the exact same network segment.
(Same first three numbers in the adress: 192.168.1.x or whatever)
Thank you for the details. Could you please follow all the suggestions shared above — reinstall the Roon app on your devices and verify that your Roon Remote and Titan are on the same network segment (the first three numbers of their IP addresses should match, e.g. 192.168.1.x).
Additionally, please connect a monitor via HDMI to your Nucleus Titan and share a photo of what appears on the screen.
This will help us confirm whether the system is booting correctly and if there are any visible errors.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my iPad and iPhone and confirmed that the app is on the same network segment as the Titan. After reinstalling, it sees the Roon Titan and offers to connect. When I press the connect button the Roon waiting ikon just hangs. I have connected a monitor to the Titan and attached a photo of the screen.
That looks good, no issues.
Next suggestion would be to try a hard wired Roon Remote on the same switch/router as the Nucleus Titan, do you have a desktop computer or a lappy to try that?
And, have anything changed of late, regarding your network setup?Firmware updates, adding MESH nodes or similar?
Keep in mind, since your Titan shows 192.168.0.x as its IP address all your roon clients incl. smartphone, regardless of wired or wireless, must also be in 192.168.0.x.
Also make sure there’s no network/port blocking (firewall) enabled for your Titan. In doubt disable it temporarily.
What is the current size of your library? After reviewing your webUI screenshot, we’re seeing you only have about 15% space left on your internal music drive.
Pairing that with the repeated out-of-memory errors we’re seeing on a fresh Roon Server diagnostic from your Nucleus:
[243] Oct 6 22:52:06 (none) user.err kernel: [100110.846620] Out of memory: Killed process 20049 (RoonAppliance) total-vm:15273144kB, anon-rss:6783720kB, file-rss:768kB, shmem-rss:0kB, UID:0 pgtables:15652kB oom_score_adj:0
[244] Oct 6 22:52:06 (none) user.notice roonserver/run: Error
I’d be curious to see how things perform if you temporarily lighten your library size. Let me know!
This was really good advice. My library is 350K songs and has been working well. Based on your suggestion, I isolated my NAS and the Roon app came up after a couple of hours. I have reduced the number of songs and will slowly start adding them back to determine to point where the Titan no longer operates properly. Thanks for your help. You can close this ticket
