Describe the issue

Roon was connecting from my Mac, now it isn't. I can connect to my Roon server using all other devices. When clicking 'Configure Roon OS devices' the popup shows the IP address, clicking on the IP address opens a webpage showing the Roon Optimized Core Kit settings - all are OK. I've restarted the Roon server. Roon works everywhere except on my Mac after it was updated to Sequoia 15.3

Describe your network setup

Roon server is connected direct to my Eero network adaptor, Mac connects via WIFI. Eero set up correctly verified by all other devices connecting to the same network working correctly, i.e. iphone, ipad, Sonos speakers

I have this problem also quit often. I am able to solve it by going to:

  • system settings
  • privacy and security
  • local network
  • uncheck Roon and check it again

Do you still have this often with 15.3? Because many people reported that the issue stopped for them with 15.3, after it was frequent with 15.1 and 15.2., and there was some hope that it’s fixed for good.

15.3 should show a popup asking to give Roon network permissions. If it doesn’t, or if it doesn’t work, performing your steps is surely a good idea.

It is still happening with 15.3. I had to do it the first time I started my Mac mini m4 after updating it to 15.3

And did you have to do it again after the first time? Once would be normal, but not if you have to repeat it after reboots, for instance

Thank you, this solved the problem and I notice this setting isn’t captured in the Roon help guide for Macs - highlighting here as an idea to add to the help guide.

Me to. Just updated to 15.3 last night. Switched on MacBook Pro just now and I too am unable to connect. I’ll read this thread and see if I can sort it

Perfect. Thanks @Faxe. This has sorted the issue. Nice one @Faxe. Roon is my musical crutch - my productivity can return back to normal now

Normally there should be a prompt by macOS, asking for the permission, which then sets the toggle.
