Describe the issue

Purchased a previously owned Mola MolaTambaqui streamer dac and roon cannot seem to hook up with it. I have set and reset my computer(core) and wifi router mulible times and it still cannot link up? What am I doing wrong? And how do I fix it?

Describe your network setup

Xfinity router no extensions and or modem switches.

How is it connected to your Roon Server?
Or as it Roon Ready is it just connected to your Ethernet.
If the latter are you sure it can be seen on your network to begin with.
And do you have the manual for it as likely have to enable Roon in it somewhere.

Ethernet cable to Tambaqui, wifi to Roon server which is a lap top running windows 11.

Ok so can you see the Mola on your network?

From what I can see once an Ethernet cable is plugged into the Mola it should show up instantly in your Roon Server : Settings: Audio tab ready for you to enable.
If it can be seen on your network that is.

Did you select the RoonReady Ethernet output in the Mola Mola?

Verify that the dac and server are on the same subnet by comparing the ip numbers.

How do i find what iP address the Tambaqui is using? I will google but appreciate your help so far.

The DAC manual suggests looking in Roon to find the IP number, which, of course doesn’t help if Roon can’t connect to the DAC.

Some times, Wired Networks and Wifi networks are segregated on different subnets. You might check your router and see if it sees the DAC, since it needs to supply the IP address. Or try connecting your laptop by Ethernet instead of Wifi, that way both the DAC and laptop are connected via ethernet.

Good day @Ralph_Muller !

Thanks for sharing your problem here.

As others have stated it is good idea to confirm that DAC and roon server are in the same subnet.

In order to check it you can download some simple IP lookup software. This one for example:

.

After you download it it will scan your network and show you all devices within the same local network as your laptop.

Let us know please whether you can see the DAC there.

Thanks!

Looking forward to your reply !

Regards.

All set after I called my internet provider and he diagnosed an issue and did a hard reboot which took about 5mins, and we are good to go. Thanks for everyones help!
