Roon unable to detect Melco streamer (ref#R1NX4N)

Welcome to the forum! I am looking over your account details and it looks like a Melco streamer was located by Roon yesterday. If you try to perform a full reboot of your network, Roon Server, and Melco (in that order), does that help restore connectivity? After the reboot procedure the Melco should be seen on Roon Settings → Audio tab.

Unfortunately I am currently traveling for the next week. However I tried on Monday evening and many times over the last few weeks to reboot and “initialize settings” on the Melco but nothing has worked. I can see the IP address on the Melco and my network router but it doesn’t show up in Roon. When I plug my Bluesound node streamer in the same port it pops up instantly. I will try once more on the order you suggest and I’m waiting on some follow up from Melco. Thank you for responding

A few additional troubleshooting steps you can try after you return from your travels:

  • Consider using the device’s IP address directly in the network share path (e.g., \192.168.X.X\Internal) to bypass name resolution.
  • Check your router or DNS settings to ensure that local hostnames are properly resolved.
  • If you’re using a workgroup or homegroup setup, verify that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on your network.

Thank you for the help. Somehow I was able to restore connectivity but I’m not sure how to duplicate the process if it happens again but I will refer to your suggestions. Thane again
