Describe the issue

Roon won't see audio devices on the Network

Describe your network setup

Eero Pro 6E - Main plus two additional units. My Roon Server (NUC) is connected directly to one of the auxiliary Eero 6E units.I have one DAC connected by USB to the Roon NUC server. That shows up in my devices. All other devices are connected to my laptop which connects to the LAN by wifi, they do not appear on my Roon Audio (settings) page. However, my Tidal app shows all devices connected to my laptop. Following an upgrade to Sequoia 15.3 3 days ago, my devices reappeared and I thought the issue was with 15.2. However, we had a power outage last night and since then , the devices have disappeared again. I have tried toggling the Firewall, the Local Network settings , restarting the Eero system as well as restoring my laptop, all without success. I had no issues prior to Sequoia.

Interestingly, wifi-only devices like my portable DAP show up in Roon as available audio devices but these are obviously not hard-wire connected to my laptop.

Hi @Bobolaclune,
Thanks for reaching out to ask us about this issue. What is the make and model of the missing devices? This information will help us see whether the device announcement from these endpoints is reaching Roon at all. Knowing that will help us narrow down the cause of this.

Hi Daniel

The missing devices are all DAC’s

  • Xduoo XD05 Pro
  • Topping DX9
  • Cayin RU7
As stated, all the devices re-appeared after the upgrade to Sequoia 15.3 but disappeared after a power outage. No devices appear on my MacBook Pro (to which the devices are physically connected) or on a MacBook Air nor on my iPad or iPhone. However , any DAC physically connected to my NUC Roon Server will show up. So this either a wifi issue or an Apple Sequoia issue.
    Many thanks

Hey @Bobolaclune,

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear your issues persist.

How are the connected specifically? Let’s see if a RAATServer refresh on the Mac may help.

You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings → Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder
