Roon cannot find compositions in my library.
Roon Nucleus and QNAP NAS
Roon support may need further details.
Are these locally store compositions? Or Qobuz/Tidal?
An example of the compositions you’re looking for and the method your following in trying to find them.
I was waiting for this so I could give a link.
Hello @Christopher_Fogarty,
Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support.
It would be helpful for us to test this issue on our end as well. Could you please upload some of the files in question?
Specifically, please upload a few folders that do appear in the search results, along with a couple that do not appear, so we can review the metadata and better understand the issue.
Once you’ve uploaded the files, let us know and we’ll take a closer look.

I uploaded the entire album
Any luck Mr. Flibble?
Any luck solving this?
Thanks for checking in! Our team is still taking a closer look into the files you’ve sent over. In the meantime, can you confirm the missing albums are properly identified and matched to Roon’s metadata database?
You can check this by: Go to the album → 3-dot menu → Edit → Identify Album and manually find a match
With that, how have you tagged the missing compositions? Go to Settings > Library > Import Settings. Under “Metadata Preferences”, make sure File Tags are prioritized for Work and Part if your files are tagged.
It could also be the case where you’re using file tags but Roon’s internal metadata is conflicting - For the album: Edit → Edit Album → set Use File Tags for Multi-Part Composition Grouping.
Another situation could be that Roon might have identified compositions, but they’re not grouped. Check the following:
Go to Compositions view in Roon (under “My Library > Compositions”).
Let me know if any of the above help!
The issue is not that the album is not identified, per se. If I do a search for, in this example, Gustav Mahler, then search Albums (discography), my album correctly shows up under that of Mahler. It is when I look for a composition. Under Mahler, I selecth the 9th Symphony which this album is a recording of the 9th by Mahler, it does not show up there.
Responding to your questions:
I also do not see “go to performances” in any of the three dots. See Video Link

Talk to me about where Roon pulls composition information. I would have assumed Title?
In the case of Classical you have works and movements. This is the particular album we are having issues with.
Hello @Christopher_Fogarty,
Sorry for the delay in the response.
Please follow the video recording and ensure that your album is identified correctly, as @benjamin is mentioned.
