Describe your network setup
It's a asustor nas, I can connect to it and find my music
Hi @scala,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. Are you able to see your music folder outside of Roon like in Finder? Can you also please share a screenshot of your Roon storage settings page? Once we have that information we can proceed with troubleshooting.
thank you for getting in touch with me, Daniel.
Because I couldn’t get anywhere, I deleted the Roon app from my Mac.
After I got the app new from Roon’s main website.
Clicking on the App I only get to … (see copie Roon screenshot)
I have no idea what to do …
I send you 3 screenshots.
NAS screenshot, that’s where my music is stored.
Finder screenshot, here you can see in finder the path to my NAS Asustor, all the way to my music files.
You won’t be able to find any OS devices because you are not running RoonOS (ROCK/Nucleus).
It looks like you are using an AFP share, do you also have SMB turned on for the share? Are you able to try to put in the IP address of the share into Roon, does that work? Please share a screenshot of the settings you are inputting into Roon.
here I’m supposed to put in the NETWORK SHARE LOCATION.
I have no clue what to put in … I have tried several things nothing worked, what I also don’t know is, do I have to put the Username and Password of my NAS in.??
here is a list of the trials:
Hi @scala,
Since you don’t have SMB set up it makes sense that none of that worked. I found this guide to setting up SMB on a ASUSTOR NAS https://youtu.be/x_1WQh9dmyU If you follow that guide you should then be able to connect that file share to Roon with one of these
I had to click the Windows Date service. (I thought it had to do with Windows and I’m using a Mac)
Anyway its all running
greeting to all the Roon team
