Describe the issue

After completing the lastest update Roon will no play local files. I can see all my albums, but when i press play it attempts to play each track quite quickly but no audio ever starts. It is the same with any album I try.

Steps taken are: Restarting the computer, deleting my music folder within roon and then cleaning the database afterwards. I readded my music folder but the same issue occured.

I then uninstalled Roon, restarted, downloaded a new installer from your website, installed Roon, hooked up my music folder. Same issue.

I can confirm all my files play perfectly in VLC media player.

I am on Win 11 25H2.

Describe your network setup

I am connected on my desktop computer via Wifi 7 to my Ubiquiti access point connected to the LAN port on my Ubiquiti router. The router is plugged into my ISP's modem.

Also Roon will not let go of exclusive mode even though nothing is playing. I have to force quit the app through the task manager.

Can i get a response at all from Roon on this?

Hi @Travis_Ernewein,

Thanks for the update, and for hanging in there while we looked at this.

The issue is the RAAT clock sync failure with your JDS Labs EL DAC II+ Balanced in WASAPI Exclusive Mode. Exclusive Mode gives Roon sole control of the device, but if the DAC driver is not negotiating the clock handshake properly. This means RAAT can’t lock on; it attempts to play the next item in the queue after a number of retries, and then the pattern repeat.

JDS offers a dedicated XMOS driver on their website for Windows 10/11. Have you tried that instead of relying on WASAPI?

Does this issue reproduce if you play to any other Zone?

Hi Connor thanks for the insight there. Although I did have that driver installed it was an out of date version. Having run the file linked the driver was updated and I am now operational again in WASAPI exclusive mode. What a relief!! Thank you!!
