Description of Issue

When I started Roon remote it told me an update was available which started updating my ROCK. It’s no longer accessible even when trying to connect over its IP address. I have not tried restarting it yet since I have no idea what state it’s in.

Update: I restarted it and it appeared to work one time but then Roon remote popped up a warning and it’s no longer accessible. I’m pretty sure that it didn’t actually work but that Roon remote just showed it was working improperly then realized it wasn’t able to connect.

Update 2: Conner: Please make sure the latest early access release for ROCK get’s some extra testing on IPv6. I’ll bet it you check you will find that the other people who had this same problem were all on IPv6 since whatever happened appeared to hit the network first, then the rest of the core went down.

Update 3: I can no longer connect to my 5TB Music drive from the ROCK. It appears that even though my reinstall was able to restore network access, HDMI and the USB output for music, the ROCK no longer seems to understand the “Storage” location is supposed to be connected to the external USB drive. Can one of the support people please help with this issue? This early access update has been a disaster for me.

How about connecting ROCK with Roon Remote on phone?

Does your Roon remote device need an update?

same thing happened to me last night and I’m trying to figure out how to get out of the early access program - that is what killed my Rock

I’m having the same issue after last early access update. Roon ROCK server keeps disappearing. Rebooting it brings it back for a few hours.

@richard_fiorentino, @Enrico_Castagnetti, if you are having similar issues and need support from Roon, please each create your own separate support request with the required information. This will help Roon staff with prioritizing your requests.

Yes, it was something with the new early access release. Something during the install completely locked up Roon OS so it couldn’t even do network access. I had to reinstall to make it work.

I wish that would have been something simple like that. Something in the early access build completely locked up the network & HDMI. I assume the entire core was locked up but with no way to do IO I had to do a complete new install. I think I’ll be waiting a few days to do updates from now on.

I’m good now. I just did a fresh install on my ROCK, my Roon app, ARC app and on my pc and elimated all early access beta testing.

I lost some music I recently had added via desktop that got lost in the process, but im just going to re-download it…so far so good
