Describe the issue

On my MacMini I run Roon version 2.0 (build 1492) and get notification that an update is available. When I do this update, the status remains the same: Roon version 2.0 (build 1492) and keeps it keeps telling that an update is available. I run Roon Nucleus as Roon server, which to the latest update, as well as my iPads. How can I rectify this? Roger

Hi @Roger_De_Croock,

I’d first verify that no third-party network security features (anti-virus or firewall) are restricting RoonServer’s internet access, as it looks like this Mac might be having a difficult time reaching Roon’s update server.

Let’s wipe and reinstall the GUI on the Mac remote and then download the latest build. This should fully resolve the issue and won’t have any effect on your RoonServer or library. You may have to rebuild Zone settings and DSP profiles that are controlled locally on the Mac, like the System Output.

On this Mac (not on your RoonServer machine):

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder. This will automatically install the latest build, 1510.
  • Verify if the issue persists.

Let us know if this helps. We’ll watch for your response. Thanks!

Hi Connor,
The problem seems to be solved, thanks! Should I remove the Roon_Old folder from the Database, or do I have to keep both?

@Roger_De_Croock - Glad to hear that @connor 's suggestion worked!

If everything is working as expected, you can remote Roon_Old.
