Hi @2939media,
Thanks for reaching out to ask us about this issue. We activated diagnostics on your account and found a number of errors as your Roon server was starting up. So it’s possible something went wrong while updating Roon. Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:

Please let us know if you still have issues after trying this!

Looks to have re-installed correctly. App launches and is asking me to set up a new roon server on this Mac. Should I do this, or is there a way for me to restore from my prior setup? I really don’t want to have to re-create all my playlists if possible.

Hi @2939media,

If you create a new server instance and then restore from a recent Backup, it will retain all of your database settings and library (provided the storage is attached/watched in Roon).

Backups preserve a snapshot of your database - restoring one is the proper way to retain a database after migrating or reinstalling RoonServer itself.
