I created a similar support topic before, where Google Chrome looked like a solution / workaround. Update: Google Chrome exhibits the same behaviour.
I often find that one of the pictures (album or artist art) doesn’t refresh after a while. The track and time info refreshes without problems. To get it working again I need to close and start the browser. Anyone else noticed this behaviour?
Before digging into your issue deeper, we’ll need a more detailed breakdown of your full setup. Please use the form below:
Roon Core Machine
Include your operating system and machine info (Model, CPU, RAM)
Networking Gear & Setup Details
Your network gear (model of routers/switches) and if on WiFi/Ethernet
Connected Audio Devices
Specify what devices you’re using and their connection types, like USB/HDMI/Chromecast, etc.)
Number of Tracks in Library
Tell us how large your music library is, eg. “30,000 tracks”

Tell us about the problem you’re having in as much detail as possible. Screenshots are always appreciated!
When do you see this happening? Early on when listening? After streaming for a few hours? Does this happen when playing local files VS streaming from Tidal/Qobuz/Internet Radio?
If possible, please provide a timestamp of when this happens next. Thanks, Dennis!

Description of Issue
If I use Roon web display (Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge) on Roon bridge or Surface Pro 2 I noticed that after a while the big artist/album art displayed on the background doesn’t refresh anymore. The small bar on the bottom of the screen keeps refreshing track data and album/track art. Clearing the browser cache and restarting the browser solves the problem.
Thanks for the information above. I see that you’re currently using two managed switches in your setup. This could potentially be an issue in their default configuration, are you able to test by bypassing your switches and hardwiring your core directly to your router?
I would also double-check your multicast setup and turn off IGMP snooping under IPV4 for your switches if possible.
Lastly, do you see this happening around any specific playback? Early on when listening? After streaming for a few hours? Does this happen when playing local files VS streaming from Tidal/Qobuz/Internet Radio?
If possible, please provide a timestamp of when this happens next. That way we can enable diagnostics on your account to dig in deeper
Thanks for looking into this. I’m cautiously positive I found the cause of the issue. I configured an old Surface Pro 2 to automatically login and autostart Roon web display in a full screen Google Chrome session (startup folder). However, Windows 10 (and 11) have an option to “automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in”. By default this option is enabled. I think this was causing Windows to start two Roon web display Google Chrome instances simultaneously on the Surface Pro 2.
I also configured Google Chrome to remove all cookies at exit. I will rollback that to verify it still works correctly after disabling “automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in”.
