Roon won't play certain tracks from Qobuz, gets stuck on progress bar (ref#K9XYO0) [Partially Resolved, Qobuz Backend Issue]

Hi everyone,

The team is aware of the persistence of this problem and is taking steps with Qobuz to resolve it. We understand how frustrating this is for affected users. We’ll respond with an additional update as soon as possible. Thank you for reporting additional track failures. If you see other Qobuz tracks within Roon that refuse to play with no error reported, please share them here along with your geographic location.

Thank you.

Jeff Parker - Happy Today. Second track (side) won’t play, just skips. Location UK. And after the “issues” of earlier this year, things had been working so well for me

I’m doing the same thing. Have temporarily disabled Qobuz and initiated at 2 month trial with Tidal. Not a single drop out and no disappearing albums.

Roon Radio just plays for hours and albums I’ve “listen later” or saved to library don’t come back with “no longer available”. See Ya QOBUZ.

Elgar Violin Concerto, Frank Peter Zimmerman Track 1 fails to load from Qobuz via Roon. Plays fine on Qobuz itself. The other tracks play. This is a new release. I am in North Italy.

Chet - Chet Baker. Alone Together, 1st track skipped… UK

I was having that problem earlier today. Where Roon kept choking on some tracks, and the whole playlist would just stop.

After poking around it turned out that a recent move of my library from a USB to a NAS caused some sort of glitch with some endpoints.

But my thing is different from yours because yours are all hardwired, and mine are wifi. It turns out that it was a glitch somewhere in the Chromecast (or AirPlay) transfer. So I disabled all endpoints that were connecting thru CC or AP, so that it is now feeding the same device but not thru Chromecast or AirPlay. Straight IP address.

That doesn’t sound like it would be useful to you but that was what I learned and fixed. Maybe there is something there you can tinker with.

Here’s another one.

“Peace and Love” from the 2025 remaster of Mirror Ball by Neil Young in 24/192. Does not play. Rest of the album plays fine as does the 16/44 version on Qobuz.

Artist: Marta Warelis

Album: Still Life with Lemons

Track: Birds (track 1) “Playback was interupted because of track failed to load”:angry:

The problem I had 3 days ago with Elgar Violin Concerto, Frank Peter Zimmerman Track 1 failing to load is now fixed.

I won’t get into specific tracks that won’t play on Qobuz because the instances are too many. Every 20 or 30 minutes a track will skip, “Poor Connection” or similar messages will pop up, in general the experience with Qobuz via Roon has started to stretch one’s patience. The same tracks on Tidal will play virtually unhindered. Which, by the way, has highlighted the reliability that Tidal brings to the table, and the respect to the customers that seems to be lacking in other quarters. What I still find incredible is that Qobuz have not bothered to address the issue honestly and appropriately with their customers. At least I haven’t seen any official announcements, not to mention any suggestions for some form of compensation for all of us who honour our part of the contract expecting a credible and stable service rather than intermittent streaming. Pity, truly.

On second thought, there is an issue with Tidal lately. New tracks won’t load normally on Friday morning, as should be. Other members have noticed as well.

All the tracks that have skipped for me play with no issue directly from Qobuz, so it’s a Roon/Qobuz interface issue, not Qobuz itself.

This is very interesting, and complicates the perception that many of us have had. If this is the case, I hope the Roon administrators are listening and looking into it.

OMG, have you read the thread? It’s been like that from the very beginning. I won’t go into the details because this has been discussed and explained countless times over the last couple of months.

This has been known for weeks and was discussed further up. The Qobuz servers that are hit by third-parties and by the first-party app are not the same servers. (Edit: In any case, the problem is with the Qobuz servers. Some of their the streaming URLs served by their CDN are broken and point to zero data)

Nevertheless, the issue has occasionally also affected the Qobuz app and there were posts about this as well as Qobuz staff mentioning this on their own forum (and related screenshots of this were posted here)

I’m not sure how your aggression helps. I’m just reporting it as I see it to be helpful in response to another user’s post. As a Roon Tech Support recently asked for more examples, I’ve quoted those and stated that everything that skips for me plays without fault from Qobuz, which is a fact.

You’re right. Apologies for that, no need to be aggressive.

Thank you Vitor, no hard feelings. And just for interest, the tracks I recently reported now play without skipping, so I live in hope.

Just tried it for the first time in a few days, but GoGo Penguin Atomised is playing correctly now as well. I already switched from Tidal to Qobuz in the MQA era - I just want to stay put if possible, so I too live in hope…

From the Qobuz community:

I am curious whose “continued patience and understanding” they are referring to. It’s not mine!
