RoonOS 3.0 (build 274) Early Access Update

Hello everyone,
I’m currently running RoonOS Version 1.0 (build 257) Early Access on an Intel NUC7i7BNH Barebone PC.
I’ve been using this hardware since December 2017.
Yesterday, I tried to update to RoonOS 3.0 (build 274) Early Access, but without success.
I have a few questions:

  • Is my Barebone PC compatible with this update?
  • If so, do I need to change anything in the BIOS?
  • Is this update important? Is it a problem to stay on RoonOS Version 1.0 (build 257) Early Access?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

P.S.: I’m trying other users first before contacting support.

I have installed RoonOS 3.0 Build 274 on my NUC 7 (Same model as yours)

Basically, I changed BIOS mode to UEFI, installed production RoonOS 2.1, then installed RoonOS 3.0.

HTH,

Steve

Thank you very much @Steve_Richards I’ll try that.

Be aware that this procedure will wipe the system SSD and so you will need to have a known good database backup before you start and post install, you will need to restore from that backup to get your library and end point setup back.

The BIOS config help document has info on the important settings.
