I love that I can now use the HDMI port in my Nuc 10 i7 as a display for Roon/ROCK. Unfortunately it stopped working two times now. My display only displays the Roon logo (see photo), but no album art, etc. After a Server restart the display works again. I do not have to reboot the Nuc, only restarting the Roon service is enough to make it work again.
Thanks @Mike_de_Munck for taking the time to report this. We’ll take a look and see if we can reproduce the issue and fix it in the next release.
Some extra info: It seems like the Roon Server cannot handle my dual input correctly. I have two ways of connecting to my endpoint; USB and RAAT. When I started with USB and start the display and switch to RAAT and start the display, it doesn’t work.
I was able to find two instances where it was stuck on the Roon logo and fixed them. Let us know if you continue to see issues after the next build.

I have a sonic transporter which has an hdmi out.
Will that work with the new hdmi out? Sorry, I’m not on EA, but just curious.

Hi, @Mike_de_Munck, we’ve released a fix for this problem. It’s on the RoonServer side. Could you please install the latest #1676 build of RoonServer and see if this behaviour is fixed?

@ivan - this fix didn’t work for me at first and I have a question.
When I installed build 1676, I went to 
> Displays and saw that the ROCK/NUC HDMI output connected to my Denon AVR was currently Disabled:
Yet the TV connected to the AVR was showing the Roon screen:
Which raises the question: shouldn’t this show the diagnostics screen when the Display is disabled?
So I then Enabled the Display, attached it to the Denon Zone and started the display:
No change on the TV - it still showed the Roon screen and I was playing something on the Denon Zone…
I tried another Zone with the Display and the same thing - just Roon displaying.
So then I restarted the Roon Server using the Web Administration Interface (not a full Reboot of the NUC) and now Zones are being correctly displayed.
So it would seem that after installing 1676 an extra restart of the Roon Server is necessary?
However, if I disable the Display - the TV still displays the Roon logo - how do I see the diagnostics screen or has this now been removed?
Extra restart? I’ll look at the extra restart and make sure it’s limited to the first update. Either way, worth fixing.
How do I see the diagnostics screen? Short answer, press ESC on a keyboard attached to the RoonOS device. It toggles between the kiosk browser and the diagnostics screen. Long answer, we’re trying to balance diag info with it being a now playing display. So there’s a diag overlay showing the same info from the diag screen. It auto hides once it knows you can get all the info from a roon remote, ie the ip address, serial number, versions, etc. It’ll also show on HDMI related changes and USB device being plugged in. It hides after 2 minutes of a healthy setup, when now playing starts, or when you sign in.
Um - I suspect that many Nucleus customers won’t have - and don’t want to have - a USB keyboard to plug in when they get asked to check the diagnostics screen. They will usually have a TV to plug in.
I hope that the long term goal will not also require a “USB device” to be plugged in to see the diagnostics.
I have a similar view to @Geoff_Coupe
In the real world, outside of lab, having RoonOS diagnostic info available without the use of a keyboard is a must have requirement.
We [mods] and support already have a tough time getting users to hook up a HDMI screen to get sight of that interface … so no keyboard requirement please.
We don’t disagree with you guys, @Geoff_Coupe and @Carl . For us as well, using the keyboard is a last resort. The goal is to have the info needed on the screen or within Roon Remote when it’s needed. Diagnostic info should hide when it becomes a now playing display and the diag info that was on the screen before is available on the Roon Remote.
Perhaps an alternate to the 2 minute timeout or the timeout itself can be tweaked for when the diag info auto hides. Also we’re currently in the midst of working on showing additional diag screens at certain failure modes, like a disconnected network, so that should help as well. Feedback on instances where we missed where diag info is needed and what info is missing would be helpful.

B1676 - I have just connected an HDMI from ROCK NUC to LG OLED. Enabled and named the RoonOS display.
Manually selected the appropriate input and the display looks as I would expect.
However, stop display and disable display do not see to have any effect. The Roon display stays active. I cannot turn it off via the phone app.
I haven’t yet tried reboots yet but I assume I should be able to stop and start display like other displays ?
Following reboot of the NUC the controls now operate as expected.
Is a reboot always necessary here to get full control of the connected display? If so, this should be clear in comms when push to production.
