Describe the issue

When I update roon from my iPhone and it updates the server running on my iMac, the server restarts but does not discovery any of my endpoints. If I manually kill and restart the RoonServer it discovers them ok. This has been the case for the past several updates. Not urgent but annoying.

Describe your network setup

6 endpoints all on Ethernet. Roon Server on iMac MacOS 15.2. Roon on iPhone and Mac.

This is a known problem on MacOS 15.0 through to 15.2. For most people posting on this forum, this issue is resolved by updating to MacOS 15.3.

Hi @Simon_Block,

Thank you for your post. The latest diagnostics indicate that your RoonServer machine might have already been updated to 15.3.1, which has resolved this issue in the vast majority for reported cases.

The 15.x MacOS update (Sequoia) contained tigther network security features that initially restricted RAATServer’s access to the loopback interface, severing audio control of any device managed by the operating system. These features are more tightly calibrated in 15.3 and do not restrict Roon/RAAT unless additional security settings have been configured.

For due diligence, make sure that RoonServer has local network access permitted in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. You can also make sure a Fixed WiFi Address has been assigned in your WiFi Details window on this Mac.

Thanks!

Thanks, I updated to 15.3.1 shortly after the last update. Hopefully next time it will restart correctly.
Cheers.
