I accidentally closed roonserver while it was updating, and now it won't start. And I cannot find a download link for the server on the website, only the desktop remote version that says its looking for my server.
We’re sorry to see you have fallen into such a problem.
We would recommend you to reinstall Roon from our official website:
.
In case after reinstallation it still does not work then we recommend to delete existing installation and install it from scratch and restore a backup.
Let us know please whether you require any additional advices.
Diagnostics indicate that you might have recently logged into Roon using the server in question (automatic diagnostics remain active until the thread closes).
Are we correct in assuming that you’ve been able to re-launch the server successfully after a reinstall?
If you’re still stuck, try a full server refresh (but only if you have a Roon Backup available!).
Verify you still have a Roon Backup available
Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
Navigate to your Roon [Database Location](
https://kb.roonlabs.com/Database_Location
)
Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and "Roon" and delete both
Reinstall the Roon App from our [Downloads Page](
https://roonlabs.com/downloads
) to generate a new Roon folder
Restore your Backup
Please reach out if we can provide any further assistance. If you’re all set, you can either mark this thread “Solved,” or simply wait another day for it to auto-close without any new responses. Thanks!
We hope this post finds you well. Diagnostics seem to indicate that Roon is online for your account, so we’re going to assume this issue has resolved in the meantime.
This thread is now closing due to inactivity, but please see my response above for a more thorough way to reinstall RoonServer from scratch if you’re still stuck.
For context, the download link for Roon and RoonServer is the same for MacOS/Windows. You install the GUI, which then prompts you to either set up a background server or connect to an existing server on the network.
