It lasts forever when living on the charging stand
It defeats the purpose of being cool and wireless. I would prefer a 3D printed extended battery case if that exists.
That’s a cool idea
For me, I only use the remote in one place so using the stand is not an inconvenience. It also means the remote is always charged. Previously, I could never rely on the remote being charged when I came to use it. I would say it would probably last a day, maybe less before it would need to be re-charged. So I could never really rely on it being charged and ready to go at any given time. Plus, if it needed to be charged, I couldn’t use it whilst charging. Now, I just use it, no hassle. Just a shame the battery doesn’t last longer. But, it does suffer from the same design flaw as the Apple wireless mouse – charging port underneath, most inconvenient. Although I understand in this case there is no other way as the outer ring needs to move freely. I think the stand is a reasonable compromise. Just a shame the only way of getting one is to have it 3D printed which proved fairly expensive for what it is. The ideal solution would be a wireless charging dock – now that would be worth paying for!
Hi All,
Any ideas why my Nuimo controller becomes disconnected? I always keep it connected to a power supply and it never moves – sits about a foot away from my Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.4.
It generally works flawlessly but just occasionally disconnects and shows the flashing bluetooth signal. I try unplugging and turning back on and rebooting the Pi but nothing seems to work. It then just randomly re-connects and all is good until the next time.
Any ideas what is causing this or the best process to get them reconnected?
Thanks
EDIT – so my Nuimo controller just disconnected again. I did the following:
– Shutdown/unplugged the Pi for 10 minutes
– Unplugged/switched off the Nuimo for 10 minutes
– Plugged in/started up the Pi
– Once the Pi was up and running, I plugged in and turned on the Nuimo.
– The Nuimo connected immediately vi bluetooth.
Let’s see how long it remains connected.
The transmitter of the Nuimo is a bit weak. Also the frequency range of Bluetooth is shared with WiFi. Wven worth if there are may WiFi routers near by.
I recommended to use the double Antenna from ZEXMTE. I use it in my home and it works really good in combination with the Nuimo.
Nevertheless, I still see interruptions here and there. These cannot be completely avoided.

Thanks for the reply. When this does happen can you suggest the best process to reconnect?
I have seen the recommended adapter previously. I’ll check that out thanks.
Hi Mike I bought one of the Zexmte WIFI dongles that the good Doctor recommends for two of my setups. While they still occasionally disconnectand show the Bluetooth logo, they reconnect after 20-30 seconds 99.9% of the time.
I leave mine permanently plugged in to charge on a 3D printed charging stand, but I do find it useful to turn them off and on every few weeks if I see the disconnections becoming a bit more common.
Thank for the tip.
Is the ZEXMTE Long Range USB Bluetooth Adapter a simple plug and play set up or is there a more involved set up with the Pi?
Plug it in and reboot the Pi and that is all.
There is nothing obvious that it is in use, besides a better signal.
I have a lot of WiFi and BT devices in my house and I think the Pi was getting drowned out, before I added it
You have to plug it before booting the Pi with rooExtend. That’s all.

Thanks. Just ordered!
@DrCWO I’m running into a small issue I’m not able to solve. I’ve been using “down-swipe” to start my morning radio since buying a Nuimo 2(?)years ago. Has always worked fine, I could swipe down and activate the radio, swipe down again and go back to the music in the queue. Since a couple of weeks the swipe-down activates on the Nuimo, but nothing happens in Roon anymore, it doesn’t activate the radio and keeps on playing the queue. Any idea what I might be overlooking? I already restarted everything, checked the stored radio and checked the active zone. Thx for your help! Bernie
Hi Bernie,
please check if the down swipe action is configured with the correct radio station in the rooNumio Settings.

Yes I checked and that’s ok. And also the swiping works according to the nuimo, “Radio On” message is shown, but the existing queue continues to play.
Have you also checked the assignment of the Radio Station to “Radio Station 2” in the extended settings? This was my second screenshot.
Thank you, that’s it, works again like a charm!
I must have missed this new settings submenu…
