Description of Issue

So Core is running just fine. I can stream music from other end points. This issue concerns an endpoint running on a raspberry pi 3 using ropieeeXL. It worked fine w/ no issues until i accidently deleted roonbridge in the web interface to Ropieee. Since then and several ropieee re-flashes, i can no long see it as an endpoint.

Here is the logs i was asked to send.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

HI @Hugo_Amaral

Would you be so kind to switch to ‘regular’ RoPieee? I’ve added some stuff to make things more verbose.
@ben from Roon is also up to date with the issue, so maybe we can figure out what’s going on.

Thanks

Hi harry-

Sure, i’ve switched it over to regular Ropieee.

Here are the logs:

Thanks!

Can you reboot once more and send me feedback?

Thanks

sure!

Ok thanks @Hugo_Amaral .

Now, could you do the following:

  • reboot the unit
  • wait until it;s up (5 minutes or so)
  • reboot it again
  • when it’s up send me feedback

Much appreciated!

and thank you!

@Hugo_Amaral ,

Can you do the same exercise exactly again?

Thanks!

@Hugo_Amaral your unit should now be visible in Roon.

whoa it sure is. howd you get it to work w/o touching the device itself?

and thank you very much!

I think there are/were some issues with the Roonbridge update process scripts if another post is what this issue might case.

For this (rare) cases RoPieee has the possibility to check for a set of ‘rescue scripts’ (as I like to call them) upon boot and immediately run them.

So in this case I pinpointed it in a few steps (which you were part of) that it had to do with downloading Roon Bridge from Roon’s infrastructure as they made some changes.

You of course thanks in participating in this bug hunt!

Regards,
Harry
