What are your intentions behind trying to run Ropieee on a Mac?
Please be more verbose!

I have downloaded the latest version of ROPIEEE XL on MACMINI With the intention of flushing it to a SD card in order to use with raspberry, pi 4
When I try to open it, I am getting a message Saying
UNABLE TO EXPAND , IT IS AN UNSUPPORTED FORMAT.
Have turned off fire VALT and ticked the box to allow Apple and approved apps to download , I AM RUNNING THE LATEST VERSION OF VENTURA.
All very strange, have tried many times without success
WILL LOOK FORWARD TO SOME KIND PERSON BEING ABLE TO HELP.

You have to use something like this : Introducing Raspberry Pi Imager, our new imaging utility - Raspberry Pi
You can download the image and write it to an SD card with this tool.
Just opening or copying does not work.

The tool works on Windows, MAC and Ubuntu

You don’t open it. You use third party software to flash it to an SD card but you should never have to open it. I don’t know the appropriate software for Mac. Etcher works well for Windows.

Go to https://ropieee.org/getting_started/, scroll to the bottom, open Ropieee Beginners Guide, read and follow instructions…

You need Balena Etcher for Mac, to flash the Ropieee image to your SD card.

Also just for info, using capital letters is akin to shouting at people and can be considered somewhat rude on internet forums :grinning:

Nope, the raspberry pi alternative works perfectly (also with ISO to USB sticks etc.).

Yep, Linux based won’t work with MAC.
