I have the problem that RoPieee XL 2023.11 isn’t recognized by HQPlayer Embedded 5.3.2 anymore as network endpoint, while Roon still sees it.
If i flash the current NAA image to my Raspberry Pi 4, it instantly is recognized.
Either i miss something or something is off.
The only thing i can’t seem to find while configuring RoPieee is the “Configure” button, the only thing i see is “Apply”, “Reset” and “Logout”, but HQPlayer NAA switch stays active after rebooting, so i think it is active.
The configure button typically appears as a red badge on top of the tab row in the web interface. hard to miss, but not present all the time.
If you have rebooted and the active switch is on, it should be enabled.
I have been playing around with HQPlayer in the past days and also tried to use my Ropieee device as NAA. I had a similar issue with HQPlayer not finding the NAA and not playing to it once it had been found.
In the end i had to disable the audio zone that uses the Ropiee Device as an endpoint inside Roon, rebooted everything (Roon Server, Ropiee and HQPlayer) and then it worked.
In some other forum posts i found that others had similar issues and the cause of it most likely being that Roon doesn’t release the endpoint even if no music is playing thus making it unavailable for other streaming inputs on the same device.
as Roland suggested above, make sure that your RoPieee endpoint is disabled in Roon → Settings → Audio; similarly, if you have other (RoPieee) services enabled (like UPnP / Airplay / …), disable them
BTW, if you check HQPlayer’s log-file (after a fresh HQplayer restart, while your RoPieee is up), is the NAA discovered?
everything works fine for me with same SW versions (RoPieee XL 2023.11 with NAA 4.5.0 & HQPlayer Embedded 5.3.2)
note: NAA 4.6.0 added support for auto input rate switching with UAC2Gadget
Then you have some deeper issues … any firewall running on your lan? Can you try to change your router dns? I’m using Cloudflare dns
1.1.1.1 primary and 1.0.0.1 secondary
I now see that my UDMP reports still the old hostname for the RoPieee, looks like i really have to press the configure button, which doesn’t appear in 3 different browsers:
Fresh Firefox 121.0 same result, when i hit “Apply” in “Services → HQPlayer NAA”, it jumps to “Services → UPNP Bridge” brings the Pop-Up to press “Configure” which is nowhere to be found.
Found the solution, i had an firewall rule to drop invalid traffic and block RFC1918 traffic between VLANs.
After pausing those rules, the “Configure” button appeard, now i can see the endpoint in HQPlayer again.
