I am frustrated as this pi4 w/ ropieexl has been on again, off again working.
Currently the pi4 is wired static ip (have tried dhcp with same success) to the network. 70% it is not recognized by roon, the other 30% it is. Of that 30%, 50% of the times it is recognized, it is because i am forced to shut it down and restart it multiple times.
The times it is available, it works well.
When the device is NOT available in roon, it can be seen and pinged on my network ( ~5ms response time) without an issue. The web interface works and i have complete access. No problems.
As of this morning, the device (regardless of multiple shutdown and restarts) cannot be viewed in roon.
I dont know if this is a roon issue , pi4, ropieeexl or network. If anyone has some suggestions on what to try next, please let me know.
Try to start from scratch and reflash your microsd (use a new/different one if available), should the issue still be there send a feedback (from advanced tab) and post here the feedback id
Interesting thing … I just opened up jriver and the pi4/ropieeexl option came up. I can play music to it without a problem. Clearly its not a microsd card since it works fine using jriver. Dont know about you but this points to it being a roon/ropiee combo problem to me. Now that i think about it, it has not worked since roon upgraded to 1.8. Anyone else with this problem?
