I have posted suggestions in the past about ways to display more than one photo for an artist in the now playing screen of a Display. It didn’t get many votes - ok. I have tried to understand how Roon and Display use all of the information in Valence. My example is The Who. No matter which of hundreds of Who songs are playing, the display shows the same image of the young band on a car. If you look in Valence though, you see that image, but many others. Is there one default image and that is all that is ever shown? Is there a way to let the Display shuffle through them. If not, what is the point if having so many there?
I searched for this topic. I wanted to try out this feature. With a few clicks through the screens, I managed to get it working. For some artists, the background images change, but unfortunately, for most of them, they don’t. That’s the first problem.
But I’m also interested in what requirements need to be met in order to use this feature smoothly.
The setup
AVR → Primare SPA25, connected to it
ZenMini MK3 as a Roon Core and a
Hisense TV with VIDAA OS via eARC
Set the AVR preset to ZenMini
Launch Roon – select a track
Speaker icon → Select Display
TV – shows a black screen with the word “Roon”
Now I also have to switch to the TV input, select the browser there, enter the URL (Roon Display), and then I see the album art for the track that’s playing
Isn’t there a more convenient way to do this? Can’t I just launch the browser with the correct link directly from Roon?
Make the Roon link the home page of the browser? I did that on my Samsung TV and since I never use the browser for anything else it always comes up with my customized Roon now playing page.

I couldn’t get the Hisense to work.
Unlike the Shield, the Hisense doesn’t show up in Roon. Overall, it’s not very Roon-like. Too many clicks and switches, remote controls, etc. …
It’s not user-friendly if you don’t have an Apple TV.
And that’s what I’ve decided now. No album art until the new Apple TV comes out. Otherwise, I’ll just get frustrated… I’m too old for that.
