I have to mea culpa and admit I don’t always (for ALWAYS read USUALLY) listen to the music others have been listening to BUT
really enjoyed Ernesto’s choice the Theivery Corporation compilation. It’s the sort of music I thought only Brits really did well but some stunning and stunning sounding tracks on there.
and The New Pornographers. I generally have problems with how new recordings sound - high compression even brickwalling, but this one sounds okay - not quite the dynamics of say a Police or Elvis Costello or madness recording but not too far away from the line. And it has some great drumming - or should I say the sort of drumming I like with a bit of panning for good measure. This let me open up to the music and might fine it is to.
My wonky ears had me hearing “This is not an Asian man” where upon reflection it’s probably “Nothing major man”.
I’ll be travelling again for the next 2 weeks hopefully catch up early June.

They are in essence a “home town” band for @Ernesto_Del_Aguila and I. The band ran a lounge in DC that every once in awhile they would just show up and spin for the evening. Really special moments.

Still travelling here. Skankfest was a blast. I liked EZ Dickens and the Rascal Malarky, Andrea enjoyed Faintest Idea (three horn section). Yesterday we heard Evensong in York Minster. Otherwise not much music, but lots of old rocks and buildings. Off to Geneva today and will tour the LHC there.

Paris today. Bordeaux tomorrow, Won’t make our chat but am having great fun. No music of any note. Currently travelling at 300 kmh on a TGV.
Edit: should actually be able to make it at 9pm Paris time.

It turns out Australia placed fourth in Eurovision. I suspect some of you may not have voted when I asked you to. I won’t be conducting an enquiry. You know who you are and will just have to live with it.
