Running Roon as a remote on a Mac

Hi,

I run Roon Server on my iMac which I control via Roon Remote on an iPad. It works great.

I’ve tried to instal Roon on the iMac as a remote only. However, during the set up i’m not given the option of remote only which I understand I should.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

You download the full version of Roon then when you run it you will see the remote option.

I run it and don’t see the remote option?

I’ve had the full version of Roon on this iMac previously with the Core elsewhere. Is there a file I need to delete in the database?

Open Finder and click Go in the top bar
Hold down the Alt key to unhide the Library folder
Delete the Roon folder.
This will remove Roon

Then

Download Roon hopefully you will be ok

Go to Settings - General, and connect to the Core you want to control. Then you’re running as a remote. It’s not essential to remove the old database to run as a remote.

Thanks.

I deleted the Roon file in Library, deleted Roon and then reinstalled it.

The option for remote appeared in set up and all working perfectly.

Thank again
