Hi there - I have three raspberry pi 4’s around the house as Roon endpoints with ropieee. I have another two rasperry pi’s, a 4 and a 3b operating with pi-hole as my primary and secondary dns servers respectively.
I was tinkering today, and I wondered why I was using additional rpi’s when perhaps I did not need too. So, I paused the 3b, the secondary DNS pihole server, with the idea I would load both roon bridge (instead of ropieee), and then pi-hole on one of the rpi’s currently being used as a Roon endpoint on my desk.
I installed raspberry pi OS via their imager, then roon bridge and finally pihole, I also downloaded UFW firewall and enabled it. I then set-up the firewall rules.
Anyway, roon recognised the rpi and I am now listening again at my desk and the rpi is also running as a secondary DNS server.
Is there any downside to doing this? I am not that experienced in this area, being just a hobbyist, so thought I would check.
