Good Morning, I am new to Roon having subscribed to the Black Friday deal of 3 months for $3. I am currenting running Roon on a NUC via Windows 10 as the Server but I am not sure I am doing it correctly.
I have two programs installed one called Roon and the other called Roon Server, however I am not sure which I should be running.
Hi @Mike_O_Neill thanks for clarifying this. So I checked the Win10 Taskbar and the Server is running. So I think it’s working. Thank you for that.
Now I have another issue I have an iPhone 17 and I have the Roon iOS app installed, when I load the app it finds my server but just say’s “connecting” and never connects.
I’m sorry I’ve not been back sooner. I have not had a chance to fully look into this, however I decided to purchase a new (to me) NUC as the one running Roon also runs Plex and can only run Windows 10. It’s possible the current NUC is up to date enough to run Roon as a ROCK Server instead. I intend to look to resolve the networking issues 1st before seeing if I can install Roon directly onto the old NUC.
Just a quick update, good news, after a lot of investigating why the server wasn’t working and visible on my iPhone last night we have got it working. One issue was ESET blocking Roon and RAAT. There may have been another issue with routing but we’re seeing how it goes for now.
Been enjoying Arc on my iPhone and using Roon with my Eversolo Play
