· I am running ROON Rock on an Intel NUC (8i 5BEH3) with Windows 11, iPad and Android mobile control apps. I have just applied an available update (to all devices) and am now on ROON Server version 2.70 (build 1669) PC & iPad ROON version 2.67 (build1661) On applying the update, my ROON server initially did not function, but after a reboot eventually came up again. My problem is that following the update, at least 95 percent of all tracks in all of my playlists are marked as 'Unavailable'. I do not want to rebuild every one of my playlists, some of which are pretty large. Is there anything I can do to 're-constitute' my playlists?
I now see that in addition to this, one of my playlists (labelled ‘Guitar’ or ‘Guitar music’ has completely disappeared.
Have you tried using the Playlist Improver to fix the unavailable tracks?
Also, I’m not sure that it is related to your issue with the playlist track availability but your Roon Server appears to be running the Early Access build whilst your PC and iPad are running the latest production releases.
You should make sure that all your devices running the Roon Server or Roon Clients are running versions from the same stream (either Early Access or Production). Mixing Early Access and Production is not supported and can cause issues.
I wasn’t aware of the ‘Playlist Improver’. I’ve had a quick look for it but haven’t found it so far. How do I access it?
Thanks for the suggestion|
EDIT:
I have found the ‘Improver’. Unfortunately it has only managed to make a small number (3 or so per playlist) of previously unavailable tracks available.
I did actually find the Improver just before your post, and have tried running it on a number of my playlists. On a reasonably large playlist with 244 tracks (marked as unavailable since the update), it managed to find and make available just 10 tracks. - so 234 tracks still unavailable!
I have just noticed that my problem is wider than just Playlists.
My Audio library now has just 49 albums - it should have many hundreds!
Also, when I search for an Artist, I can access that artist’s discography as expected, but when I select an album, all album tracks are marked as ‘Unavailable’!
It may be that although ROON indicates I am logged into both of my streaming platforms (Qobuz & Tidal), something may have impacted my connectivity. I’ll try rebooting my Services.
Many thanks for your help. My problem appears to have been resolved.
It appeared that ROON had re-established connection to both Qobuz & Tidal services following the update. However, the Tidal connection was obviously faulty. I have just logged out of Tidal in ROON and back in again, and now everything including my playlists appear to be back to normal again.
Still - I wasn’t aware of the playlist improver until you pointed it out to me, so this whole issue turned out to be quite useful
You should still fix the issue with remotes being on Production versions while the server is on Early Access, because it WILL cause problems at some point down the line.
