Sample rates at Bandcamp - an "interesting" day!

When I bought All India Radios catalogue off Bandcamp it’s smorgasbord of sample rates with many albums having mixed. 48/16 was quite common.

I"ve had several 24/192 albums from Bandcamp.

I understand the take on descriptive metadata, e.g. artist, album tags. I’m not convinced of the case for technical metadata. Sample rate and bit-depth can be captured when validating/transcoding a file, surely something they do before putting a track on sale?

Like Simon, I bought All India Radio full catalogue, the format mix is very noticeable……& mixed format usually is due to the inclusion of different mixes.
