Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.
You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.
I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.
Here are my network and firewall exception settings…still not working. I was able to use my phone to access my Roon library ever since I started using Roon and the Nucleus One, until about two weeks ago when my phone disappeared from the available devices on the Roon app on my phone.
I don’t know what the phone zone is? Where do I look to check this on a Samsung Android phone? As I said, it worked fine until about 2 weeks ago…if the phone zone changed some app did it without my knowledge.
This is the right place to look, and the option will be on the phone itself. In the thread above, mjw is pointing out that your phone will only appear in the app on the actual device, so please check the Audio settings on the phone directly. Let us know if you have any questions.
From a fresh Roon Server diagnostic report, we can see the S25 throwing a RAAT device corruption crash trace around the time you noticed the issue.
We couldn’t pull Roon logs from the mobile device itself, but it’s enough for us to understand why it’s no longer showing up as an audio device.
If you could, please fully uninstall Roon on the device and perform a fresh Reinstall, then let us know if you’re able to see it on the phone itself.
It looks like the device may have always been enabled as a private zone, so even if you get it back on the device itself, you may still not see it across other Roon Remotes.
No luck…I uninstalled the Roon app on the phone, shut the phone down, restarted the phone, installed the Roon app on the phone from the Google Play, connected to the Nucleus One server. Phone does not appear as a device in the Audio settings on the app on the phone. My other devices appear as options on the phone as before.
Maybe related, maybe not…I recently bought a JBL Go5 Bluetooth speaker. Is there a potential problem using a non-Roon Ready/Tested Bluetooth device with an Android phone while running the Roon app? I’ve never had a problem using Bose earbuds with it.
Interesting, thanks for the follow-up! If you haven’t yet, can you also please reboot Roon Server via the webUI of your Nucleus? Here’s more info on how to access the webUI:
Let me know if your phone shows up as an audio device after the reboot. Thank you!
