Description Of Issue

Everything is working fine, I can use a laptop as remote to my system (as above); it’s just that my Samsung Tablet running Android 4.4.2 no longer works — apparently I need a new OS. Will a latest generation of Amazon Fire 8 tablet work.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Hi @Sucheta_Mazumdar,

The most up to date requirements can be found here:

https://kb.roonlabs.com/FAQ:_What_Android_devices_can_I_use_Roon_with%3F

  • ARM or x86 based
  • Android 5.0 or higher
  • Supports OpenGL ES 3.0

The phone list there could do with a bit of an update.

I’ve seen this list before. Seems a bit old. Maybe an update as suggested above.

Hi @ged_hickman1 and @Sucheta_Mazumdar,

The requirements as listed above are correct:

  • ARM or x86 based
  • Android 5.0 or higher
  • Supports OpenGL ES 3.0

But I agree about the recommended devices — We’ll get that updated.

Are there no updates for Android devices after build 537?

Check out the link below which another contributor shared with me. From there see download links for Roon Remotes. Good luck.
