The cable has two distinct terminations: one for the SSD and another at the PCB. The one at the SSD is standardized for SSDs. Given the mediocre response I tried to lift the jack at the PCB to get visual on what type of connector it was. When I did the cable slid out of the jack. I have no clue how to get this cable back into the jack, Is it a crimp connection inherent to the jack? This cable failed at the SSD end with next to no application of force on my part, it looks incredibly cheap. I was hoping for a replacement part number and a quick ship direct from Roon!

There are other ports on the PCB, including USB. Can the USB port be used to connect to the SSD I bought? or ???

Again, I don’t have a Nucleus, but from what you’re saying, it looks like it has an FPC connector. Understanding and Utilizing the FPC Connector - A Simple Guide - IBE Electronics

Hi @Jim_Degnan,

The intake form we shared serves two functions:

  1. It automatically alerts our Nucleus service team to your request, so you can receive accurate information rather than relying on the forum for this part replacement

  2. It automates our notifications so you receive faster responses from our team and resolve your issue quicker.

There is a specific pathway for SATA cable replacement on the intake form. If you select this option, it won’t just create a Community thread like happens when you select “other.” It will alert the Nucleus team directly in a separate queue.

Please kindly do as requested above and fill out the relevant pathway on the form. https://account.roon.app/en/contact/new-ts-request .

Thank you!
