SATA SSD or use 2nd PCIe 3.0 x4 place on Mainboard

Moving to new architecture in the near future (parts exists):
Win11 OS is on a Samsung NVME PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD (it’s lightning fast) + Images + Data.
Roon library would then be on the NVME SSD.

Where should I put my audio data?
My mainboard has a 2nd place for a pcie 3.0 x4 SSD which I could use for audio data or should I better use a SATA III SSD?

Other Option:
Should I buy a DAS connect it via USB 3.2 Gen2 to my roon core computer (The DAS could also hold then the disks for my video content and backup - SATA HDD’s)?

Audio file’s size is: 800 GB

Thank you!
Cost is not a decision factor for this case.

Any of those should work. For audio files, even HDDs should be fine in terms of speed.

SATA SSD and PCIe are both brilliant options. Both are more than fast enough for music storage. As are spinning hard drives, really. In the end, factor capacity against price and make your choice. Solid state drives make no mechanical noise, mind you, so they may be the best choice altogether…
