Not certain if my issue is metadata but here is my issue. I run the latest Roon on windows 10 pro. Most of the time, that is after putting 3 albums in my library, I cannot add any more and the heart icon keeps spinning as does a spinning wheel to the left of the bookmark icon on the top right. Also lost many of my selections in my library…
Was considering buying a lifetime license but if my favorites keep disappearing all the time its not worth it !!
Hey @Michel_Gaudette, to receive appropriate help, it would be really helpful if you could complete the template provided below.
You can copy and paste it in your reply.

Helix - wifi - all roon files enable through firewall no AV noVPN
RME ADI-2 USB connect
Roon says 98,815 tracks (although should be more like 128,000 tracks)
Hitting the add to library selection (…) works 3 times after fresh start. After that the heart icon to the left of … keeps spinning forever and there is a spinning wheel to the left of the bookmark icon (there is normally no icon there…and the album is not in library. Also library has lost (#$^R$$%F~$) many selected albums. Cant give you screenshots of things that are not there…

Hi,
The best way I can explain the problem is this way:
- Upon fresh PC and Roon launch I can save up to 3 albums to my lib
- After that I cannot save any any albums to my lib
- What happens is that the 3 dots immediately to the right of the play now radio button change to a spinning arrow turning clockwise
- On the top right of the window, immediately to the left of the bookmark button there is also a clockwise spinning arrow. Both 3. and 4. never stop spinning until i exit roon
- I keep loosing albums that I have added to my lib.
I already sent pictures which are really pointless since I loos albums.
Thanks

WELL 6 months and NO help from Roon. Problem still on-going. I hope that Harman acquisition will mean GOOD RELIABLE support
Hi @Michel_Gaudette,
There are three culprits for the behavior you’re experiencing:
-
The first and most easily resolvable case is that you are storing local library files in a location not reliably available to Roon. If the local tracks you are attempting to add are on a network share, you will need to remove any network switches or managed network components in between the two and then rebuild the system until you’ve identified the broken component. The issue may be in your Windows machine’s ability to mount the drive or location - be sure to check permissions as well.
-
The second possibility is that the files themselves are being rejected by Roon, either because they are corrupted or because they contain additional custom tagging from third-party software that is in a format not recognized or indexed by Roon.
If you navigate to Settings → Library → Clean Up Library, a dialogue window will open detailing how many tracks are visible to Roon but not in the library, among other useful information. Please share a screenshot of this page.
- Lastly, the behavior you’re seeing is possible if there is corruption on the database or an issue with a harddrive. I recommend trying the following to refresh RoonServer:
- Make a Backup of your current RoonServer Database
- Exit out of RoonServer
- Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
- Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
- Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
- Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
- On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
- Verify if the issue persists by attempting to add files. If not, restore the Backup.
