Seeking Help with Roon Music Library Management

Good morning,

First of all, I would like to mention that my English is not the best. I am from Germany and am using ChatGPT to help with the translation. I hope my explanation is clear enough so that you can assist me with my issue.

Roon is a fantastic software that I would not want to be without. Now, to the point that is probably most important for many: I purchase my music exclusively from Qobuz, in both lossless formats and CD quality. If lossless is not available, I opt for lossy formats. Qobuz offers the option to save music in various formats, such as AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AAC, and MP3, and I take full advantage of these options.

My music library on my computer is very organized. Here’s an example:

  • Local Drive (G): Music Library – Qobuz – Rammstein – Albums – Made in Germany 1995 - 2011 (Standard Edition)
  • Local Drive (G): Music Library – Qobuz – Rammstein – Albums – Made in Germany 1995 - 2011 (Special Edition)
  • Local Drive (G): Music Library – Qobuz – Rammstein – Albums – Liebe ist fĂĽr alle da (Standard Edition)
  • Local Drive (G): Music Library – Qobuz – Rammstein – Albums – Liebe ist fĂĽr alle da (Special Edition)

Within these folders, I create subfolders to differentiate the various quality levels of the albums, such as “CD Quality,” “Lossless,” and “Lossy.” Inside these subfolders, there are specific formats like AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, and for lossy files, AAC and MP3. For albums with multiple discs, I create additional folders like “Disc 1,” “Disc 2,” and so on.

This folder structure is used for my entire music collection.

Now, onto my main problem with Roon:

Although I have imported my music correctly into Roon, I encounter issues with many albums. For instance, the album Liebe ist fĂĽr alle da (Standard Edition) has 11 tracks, while the Special Edition has 16 tracks. However, Roon detects different track counts in the folders. Sometimes it shows all 11, but other times it only recognizes 5.

I have already tried using the MP3Tag program to adjust the albums so that the metadata matches for each edition, but without success. I’m not sure how to further explain the issue, so I have attached some screenshots. If anything is unclear, please feel free to ask questions, and I hope you can help me resolve this problem.

Best regards,
Steven
