Select tracks and manually identify them as a classical composition

See unresolved support thread above. I have probably been leaning on this open door for years, but it’s frustrating that you can’t simply select a bunch of tracks and hit a button to say these tracks are a composition and then tag them as such by selecting the target composer/composition. Not to edit the metadata (which has been an argument proposed in the past for not doing this) simply adding information in the Roon overlay for this one user’s instance of an album to fix the view of that album for them. Just like we may update cover art or tag an additional album artist.

None of the suggestions detailed in the support thread worked for the album in question, and frankly never have for me when I’ve tried them before. And adding work and part tags has also never worked for me either. There needs to be a simple and user-friendly option in the Roon UI to fix these issues in one action.

If this feature suggestion is important to you, please vote for it by using the Vote button at the top of the thread. Thank you.

I agree that it can be frustrating. Usually it is an “unidentified” album and the movements fall in under the composition obediently when you identify it. However, some albums show up with a model under “identify”, but the model is not usable.

I can’t identify this one because in the digital release the preludes and fugues are separately timed in the booklet and in the CD release available on musicbrainz, but in the digital file display are merged.
