Describe the issue

I have 1000's of CD's in my Roon library. I have many duplicates that I purchased, ripped and stored in flac format. The version I replaced was in iTunes in ALAC format. When I look a particular album, if it is in both flac and ALAC, Roon sets ALAC as primary. I can change the primary to flac on an individual album format but how can I change the default so all duplicates are flac primary ??

Describe your network setup

Server running my dell PC (Inspiron 9020 desktop ) with library stored on external drive. Netgear router with nor range extenders. Connected to 5 Chromecast audio pucks, Sonus Move and home stereo with Adcom electronics and B&W speakers.

Hi @Michael_Lewinski ,

You can set the primary library version under the Versions tab, like so:

Though it won’t be too easy to do this for 1000 CDs, I reckon.

Can you please share a few screenshot of a few example albums showing this issue and upload them to the below link? I’ll ask the team to take a look over this to see if there’s a way to force select the type:

Any feedback from the team?

Hey @Michael_Lewinski,

Sorry for the delay here! We don’t have any additional feedback to share at this time. For the time being, I’d continue to set the primary library version from the ‘Versions’ tab.

We’ll be back with more information once development has had a chance to investigate further. Thanks for your continued patience! :raised_hands:
